Rotunda Bar & Restaurant

Last night I went to the Rotunda Bar & Restaurant for a friend's birthday. Kings Place building is great, as there were quirky art exhibitions everywhere, but I was a bit disappointed with the restaurant. We were a big group (15), so could only choose from a limited menu, I opted for the Scottish salmon on dill and shrimp crushed potatoes with a prawn bisque (the salmon was cooked to perfection), but the dessert options lacked lustre and the coffee I opted for instead tasted a bit burnt. Not sure if I would go back there, maybe for a specialty meaty dish, as all there meat comes from there own farm in the Northumberland countryside...

Changing the Guard
At 11am (10am on Sundays) the St James Palace detachment of the Old Guard forms up in Friary Court before marching off via Stable Yard Gate and along the Mall to join up with the rest of the Old Guard waiting in the forecourt at Buckingham Palace. I need to do this again and practice taking photos…
The Monument
The Monument, commemorates the Great Fire of 1666 and is often attributed to Christopher Wren - who choose its location 202 feet from the baker's shop in Pudding Lane where the fire originated. If I climb the 311 steps to the top I will be rewarded with a certificate, as well a wonderful view of London. Better make sure I wear my running shoes for this one eh…
