A 5min coffee break with Bo...

If your a follower of boberika you would of seen a little while back I bought a 'Four Skulls' ring from Jewel Heritage, and now I'm the proud owner of the 'Harbinger of Death' ring too. I also managed to get an interview with one of the designer's, here's my 5min quick fire round with Amina.

What is the inspiration behind your designs? Anything that is full of despair, melancholy, macabre, meaning. I like each collection to have a little story behind it rather than just design 'nice' pieces. Not that there is anything with 'nice', I just can't do it.

Are you currently working on any interesting projects? The new collection entitled 'Don't bite the Apple Eve'. Half way there, hoping for a late November launch. The website is also getting a facelift and we are participating in Jewel East again in December.

If you were a chocolate bar what would you be? Snickers, because I have nuts when it comes to most things in life. Salted ones.

My latest purchase is this awesome ring 'The Four Skulls' which is part of the first collection by Jewel Heritage entitled 'A Diamond has no value except that which is placed upon Them'. A term that challenges peoples perceptions of worth and self-worth. I can't wait to get it and really want the Harbinger of Death one next...

Folk- and gothic-inspired pieces...

Annie Costello Brown is one trendy desinger to follow, she creates folk- and gothic-inspired pieces with a feminine twist. All of the studding, quilting, weaving, hand-dyeing, and chain oxidizing are done by Brown in her own studio. (After all, she was a fine arts major.), now where is my credit card...

The Queen of Hearts...

What a great idea by London-based designer Rentaro Nishimura. These self-assembly rings, laser-cut from a single acrylic sheet, inspired by the Queen of Hearts from 'Alice in Wonderland' are the perfect gift to send in the mail.
