I like the way French artist Lyndie Dourthe constructs her paper flowers, where each one is entirely made out of hand-painted paper. These beautifully crafted flowers are so uniquely individual and pretty, don't you think?

Who is spottier?
A while ago I saw the two major retrospectives of Yayoi Kusama and Damien Hirst at the Tate Modern. It's easy to see why Yayoi Kusama is one of Japan’s most important living artists and how influential and spotty her work is. Damien's exhibition runs until September brings together his key works from over twenty years, it's huge, part spotty, part smelly and impressive. I saw this Artoon of the two artist's, by Peter Duggan and it made me chuckle...

What's currently on your playlist? White Denim, Pond, Spoon, Truck Fighters, Queens of The Stone Age, Supergrass, Justin Beiber, Manowar, Coldplay, U2, Dead Meadow, Justive, UB40 and the best war speeches in history.
What's your inspiration for your collections? Overall it's about being poetic and seeing the world through an artistic lens. I take my inspiration from the love of my family and friends, I look at their smiles and it gives me all I need to draw. That, and a healthy amount of hardcore pornography mixed with big ass barbecues.
If you were a biscuit what would you be? I'd be a Jules Destrooper biscuit. Probably the Almond Thin because I love coffee, poems and butterflies.

A night at the Open Arts Cafe...
The other Thursday I went to the Open Arts Cafe 'City City Bang Bang' night, as my good friend Laura Salesa was exhibiting. I didn't realise it would be a full night of entertainment with poetry readings, music, short films, comedy and art. The themed arts evening was a real treat especially when the last act of the night was another good friend and Jazz musician Afro Billy Jones, who I had no idea would be there. I highly recommend going to their events and will be definatley popping along to the next one...

The latest issue Rooms Magazine it out, so if you haven't got your copy yet go and get it! Issue #08 is packed full of goodness and includes an interesting interview with clock Opera that I helped Octave Cat with, as well as an interesting piece on Doug Foster. He is a visual master and his installation, which was at the Old Victoria tunnels a while back, really caught my attention. there is even a piece on me and what I would hide under my mattress… you're curious now right?

A Russian street artist who created a giant pair of spectacles from a streetlamp has been dubbed 'the Russian Banksy'. Like Banksy, P183 combines a desire to make succinct political or social commentaries with a playful and mischievous desire to explore how street art can interact with its urban environment to create visual illusions. The mysterious figure, known only as P183, reveals little about himself except that his name is Pavel, he is 28 and studied 'communicative design'...
