I had a brilliant Saturday evening at the London Fields Brewery event with live music, great tasting beer, delicious Home Slice pizza and a BBQ. The event was held at the Brewery, just under the railway arch off London Fields. I made it to the top...
I climbed to the top of The Monument for my bank holiday Monday. It's only 311 steps and you get a cute certificate once you have been up. There's a 360 degree view of London and the staff are super friendly. Do it, you know you want too...

Dare to enter the crypt for some tea and scones?
A Cathedral dedicated to St Paul has overlooked the City of London since 604AD. Ever since I got to London this building has always been covered in scaffolding on the front side, but now it's gone and makes a great photo for the scrapbook.
For a special treat go down to the crypt and have a coffee and cake (try a piece of Lavender shortcake) it's eerie but spectacular at the same time!

At 11am (10am on Sundays) the St James Palace detachment of the Old Guard forms up in Friary Court before marching off via Stable Yard Gate and along the Mall to join up with the rest of the Old Guard waiting in the forecourt at Buckingham Palace. The Monument, commemorates the Great Fire of 1666 and is often attributed to Christopher Wren - who choose its location 202 feet from the baker's shop in Pudding Lane where the fire originated. If I climb the 311 steps to the top I will be rewarded with a certificate, as well a wonderful view of London. Better make sure I wear my running shoes for this one eh…
