If you have been following me on Twitter you will notice I have been posting photos of almost everything I'm eating (yes it's a bit of an obsession), well with the disappearance of our muffin tray the other week, I had to make Apple & Blackberry mini cakes instead

I now have a muffin tray and have finally made this awesome recipe again using Raspberries this time, from you guessed it my The Blue Bird Vegetarian Cafe cookbook...

Hello baking...

When I was in NZ, I visited one of my favourite eating spots The Blue Bird Vegetarian Cafe and bought one of their recipe books, since being back I have been cooking up a storm. This was my first attempt at there sugar free apricot slice, it's divine, even if I did forget to purée the apricot sauce and had it a bit too close to the top of the oven element (doh)...

Busy in the kitchen...

This weekend I made a banana and walnut loaf and had it over a chat with Elz and cuppa tea. It didn't turn out as good as I expected, because the recipe wasn't great, but still tasted yum. I guess you never know until you try!

What inspires you? I'm inspired by nature, fragility of humankind, overheard snippets, found items, small details, music, film, late-night ruminations, anything that affects me in any way, good or bad

What are you currently working on? Dipping my toes in about ten projects that cover a range of illustration, writing, photography, and design  

If you were a biscuit what would you be? One of my mother's home-made gingerbread biscuits

This week I interviewed Illustrator Jimbo Bart

What inspires you? I have experimented with a range of mediums in illustration, but it was only this year after a visit to Sweden, inspired by the huge range of natural history surface design on furnishings and home wares, that I began experimenting with ceramics. I tend to create a new character every couple of weeks. One of the main contexts of my recent work is the idea that big scary animals can still express themselves and still like to eat cakes off plates! I often use stereotypes of animals, but aim to make them original and a bit quirky

What are you currently working on? I'am currently working on some commisioned plates, a range of mugs, producing new work for an exhibition in Primrose Hill, London and getting ready for the christmas markets

If you were a biscuit what would you be? A Ginger Nut (this seems to be a very popular choice so far)
