It has been a while since I last updated you on what has been growing in the garden... Well it's all very exciting as this year I got my first harvest of cauliflower - hooray!
Thursday 9 September 2010
My cherry tomatoes are tasty (especially with melted cheese on toast)ummmmmm... It has been raining the last few days in London and I haven't really been in the garden, so tonight I got a big surprise and now have a heap of french beans, oh dear what shall I cook?
With lots of rocket for my salads, cherry tomatoes on the way and my beans in steady supply, I very happy with my gardening efforts...

Everything is still growing very quickly and I have my first ripe strawberry - hooray!

All my babies are growing up so fast...
Sunday 13 June 2010
My basil is at it's perfect maturity and I have been using it in pasta sauces (it's nice to have fresh herbs!) The lettuce is growing well and I keep cutting it for salads and it keeps growing back (I know it's so simple, but amazing too me). With the success of the lettuce, I'm now growing rocket to give my salads that extra peppery zing.
My plants in the garden are doing well too. The pepper and tomato plant are growing taller each day, my chilli has come through and the bok choy, courgette and beans are growing up so quickly, it's exciting watching them all grow.
Sunday 6 June 2010
My Strawberries, tomato and pepper plant are growing up fast (I'm such a proud mother). I have used my lettuce in a few salads and have beans sprouting (check out my cool little bean bundles below). I'm waiting for my basil to grow a bit more so I can make Bruschetta. On the weekend I planted some rocket, chillies, bok choy, rosemary, spring onions and parsley (I know I went a little crazy). Hopefully in a few months I'll have my own fresh produce to devour!
Sunday 23 May 2010
Another year and I'm a bit more experienced at growing my own veg. This year I thought would go it alone and try my luck at some new ones. After being inspired by River Cottage, I'm now growing a few types of lettuce and Basil (they are growing so quickly). On the weekend I planted strawberry plants, a cherry tomato and a red pepper plant. I was going to take photos, but they need a few days to take to the soil, so stay tuned.

The first harvest and it the radishes - James is excited! The garden is coming along nicely and in a few weeks a few more veges will be ready to pull out and add onto the food menu!
Sunday 19 April 2009
The radishes are growing up fast, my chillies, mint and rosemary are all doing well - I'm a happy gal
Sunday 03 April 2009
Well Mr Star Trek (you know who you are) raced home to plant his precious corn before the sun went down last night and sneakily I was able to get a shot of his dedication. I think this boy is going to set a new trend for spring men's gardening 2009 and the red is a good contrast against the green don't you think?
I have put in a Rosemary in the new spot and some Moroccan mint which I hope takes as it has been through allot in the last year after getting injured from the destruction of my giant teapot planter and spilt into a few segments.
With summer on it's way (or so I hope), this is the time to plant, seed and start your veggie gardens. Me and James will take you on an adventure of our veggie patch and you can see how it changes over the next few months. James has already started our veggie garden by clearing an area and seeding various vegetables. At the moment B&Q sees allot of this guy and James has made some hard hitting decisions (chicken poop vs all the other poops). Jame's dedication to the garden is impressive, as the other night he set off in Marge with Moni to B&Q at 8pm and by 9.30pm planting of seeds at our kitchen table began. His efforts will pay off once we start reaping fresh produce.

Yip it's been put to good use :) now you can reap the rewards by getting some organic bo beans lol
